About the Teacher

Welcome to our class!  

I am very excited to be your third grade teacher.  My name is Megan Olynick and this is my fifth year at Brassfield.  I am originally from Florida, where I attended Florida State University and received a Bachelors of Science in elementary education with a focus on English speakers of other languages.  Over the last thirteen years, I have taught kindergarten, first, third and fifth grades in the states of Florida, Mississippi, Maryland and now North Carolina.  While in Maryland I pursued a Masters Degree in reading at Johns Hopkins University.

My husband and I have an almost five year old daughter named Katelyn who will be coming to Brassfield as a kindergartener this year.  We also have an eight month old daughter, named Lauren and two dogs, Alphie and Akela.  In my spare time I enjoy baking, reading, playing with my daughter, and decorating our home!  My husband and I also enjoy traveling to see our families in Florida.  

I am looking forward to another amazing year at Brassfield!
